- This workaround is for Windows XP and Windows Vista, in order for manual web folder mapping to work in Vista, it is required you install the Patch for Web Folders (KB907306) located at:
Software Update for Web Folders.
You must restart your computer after applying the patch.
- This workaround is particularly useful for dealing with Webfile incompatibilities that occur when using Vista or IE8.
1. Double click on “My Computer” on the desktop, and then click on “My Network Places” on the left panel.
2. Click “Add a network place” on the left panel.
3. When the network place wizard pops up, click “Next”.
4. Then, make sure “Choose another network location” stays selected. Click “Next”.
5. In the field prompting for an Internet or Network Address, type https://webfile.ohiodominican.edu/YOUR_USERNAME. Click "Next".
6. A screen will pop up prompting for a username and password. Type odc\YOUR_USERNAME in the the User Name field, then type your password in the password field.
7. Name your network place. Click “Next”.
8. Check the box to open the network place when you are finished, click “Finish”. This will bring up your H:/ drive.
9. In the future, your H:/ drive will now be linked as a shortcut in "My Computer."
Reminder: You must have the patch mentioned below installed in order to do this.

1. Click on the Windows logo on the lower-left corner of the screen, then left-click “My Computer”.
2. Left Click on the “Map Network Drive”.
3. Left click on “Connect to a Web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures”. Then click “Next” on the following popup screen.
4. Then Click “Choose a custom network location”. Click “Next”.
5. In the Internet or network address field, type in https://webfile.ohiodominican.edu/YOUR_USERNAME. Replace “YOUR_USERNAME” with your actual ODU username. Click "Next".
6. When a window pops up prompting you for a username and password, type your username as odc\YOUR_USERNAME.
7. Name your network location, and then click “Next”.
8. Click the “Finish” button, and from now on your Webfile H:/ drive can be accessed from “My Computer”.
