Registering Game Consoles

Many game consoles allow for online gaming. In order for a game console to connect to the Internet, it must be registered on the ODU Network. Below are instructions on how to find the information needed to register your game console.

How do I register my game console?

1. All game console registrations must be submitted online, using the Online Registration.
2. Fill out the online registration:
       Type your ODU Username
       Type your ODU Password:
       Enter you MAC or Physical Address:
       Select your device Type from the Drop down box

3. Click Register
       Note: Your game console must be connected to the ODU network and powered on at least once before registering.

4. Click Here to Register Your Game Console

5. Restart your game console after registering online

How do I find my game console's MAC address?

Each game console has a unique identifier known as the MAC address. A MAC address is 12-digits and comes in the form of 00-00-00-00-00-00. Each device's MAC address needs to be registered in order to connect to the Internet.

Xbox 360: (You must use a wired connection)

1. Navigate to the System area
2. Select Network Settings
3. Select Configure Network
4. Move over to the next tab
5. In the middle, select Advanced Settings


1. Power on Xbox without disc in tray
2. From the Xbox Dashboard Choose Settings
3. Select Network Settings
4. The MAC address is the 12-digit number at the bottom-right corner

Nintendo Wii:

1. From the Wii Channel menue, Select Wii Settings (the round button on the bottom-left of the screen with "Wii" on it.
2. Select Internet
3. Select Console Settings
4. The MAC address of the Wii console is displayed on the first line.

Sony Playstation 3:

1. Navigate to the Seetings Icon(Located on the far left)
2. Press X Button
3. Navigate up/down until you see the System Settingsicon
4. Press the X Button
5. Scroll up/down until you see System Information
6. Press the X Button
7. Locate your 12-Digit MAC address

Sony Playstation 2:

To find the MAC address on your Sony Playstation 2 you will need the Network Adaptor connected to the PS2 and you will need the disc that came with the Network Adaptor.
1. Power on the PS2 and load the Network Adaptor Start Up Disc
2. Select ISP Setup
3. Select Agree, Press X Button
4. For connection type select Local Area Network (LAN)
5. Select Automatic Confiration, Press X Button
6. At the connection test scree, SelectAdvance, Press X Button
7. At the Advanced Broadband Settings Select Automatic
8. Locate your 12-Digit MAC address
