Instructions to download and install Symantec AntiVirus

You will have to download and install 3 files. You can download them to any location on your computer. This set of instructions will use the Desktop as the downloaded location. If you download the files to another location, such as My Documents, simply replace Desktop with My Documents.
Live Update    Symantec Antivirus

Live Update
1. First, you must download Live Update(LUSETUP.exe). Click here to download Live Update. Enter your ODU Network Username and Password in the Login Window. Then Save the file to your desktop.
2. Click on the lusetup.exe icon on your desktop.
3. After a moment, Click on Yes.
4. Next, Click on Yes to finish the Live Update Install.

Symantec AntiVirus
1. You will need to click on the below links and Download BOTH files to your desktop.

First: click on Symantec Antivrus.msi to download Symantec Antivirus, and save it to your Desktop.
Second: click on data1.cab to download the Virus Definition, and save it to your Desktop.
  **You will not have to click on this file because Symantec Antivirus will call it automatically.
2. Click on the Symantec Antivirus icon on your desktop.
3. Click Next to begin the installation.
4. Read the license agreement.  If you wish to continue, select "I accept the agreement .." and click Next to continue.
5. Select Client Install and click Next to continue.
6. Select Complete.  Click Next to continue.
7. Select Unmanaged.  Click Next to continue.
8. Note that "Auto Protect" and "Run LiveUpdate" are both selected.  Click Next to continue.
9.  Click Install to continue.
10. Wait several minutes for the installation to complete.
11. Click Next to run LiveUpdate (this will update to the newest virus definitions.

 
12. Wait for LiveUpdate to download new virus definitions.

Please note that if you are cleaning and patching your computer before you register it, this step may fail.  This is normal.  LiveUpdate will run properly after your computer is registered.
13. Click Next to install the new virus definitions.
14.  You are done!  Click Finish.
